Everybody Does

An after-dinner question was thrown out about the Trump/Comey situation. We were asked if we think Trump is lying. The person who threw out the question was not a Trump supporter and has not been at ease since Trump won the election. Although, I have been a Trump supporter I am not totally blind to many of his faults and many of his mannerisms that make me cringe or second guess my vote. I am also a die-hard believer that everyone lies to some degree.

I sat silent for a bit as I listened to the others dance around the question avoiding a yes or no reply which the asker was really waiting for. There were many excuses and possible reasons thrown out validating Trump, kind of the loyalty and backing Trump was perhaps seeking from Comey. When there was pause I said Yes there is a possibility he could be lying. I re-enforced my belief that everyone lies to some degree and he is not above it.

Regardless of whether it’s politics or business or even within family and friends, people will often say or do something thinking it’s for the good but it’s not then exert a lot of energy and time trying to cover it up. I do find it somewhat humorous that those who didn’t want Trump as president looking for that one slip –up that could flip him out of office and the staunch supporters who think that he’s not capable of misleading or lying. As the Yes fell out of my mouth I took a breath and added that the one her voted for can be stamped a liar as well.

There’s a whole slew of reasons why people lie or alter the truth or keep information from certain people. I feel there are tons of people in high end seats that decide or have a hand in the way things are run that lie and do seedy things that are not brought to our attention. I’m not saying it’s right just stating a fact. Unless there are spy cams and microphones planted everywhere where there is high end security only those privy know the truth so all the time and chit chat about whether he is telling the truth or is really more for conversation and debate.
