Four / Eight Years
In as much as I am looking forward to a new president there
is a little bit of sadness sprinkled in. I don’t think President Obama was the
worst, considering the strong opposition he constantly faced much like our new
leader will face, I think he handled upsetting situations calmly and always
spoke with balance in his voice. Yes, there were many things I didn’t care too
much for but then again regardless who holds that seat there will be things
said and things done that someone somewhere will take issue with.
Two positions I
would never want to volunteer or consider is God and president/prime minister
of a country. People are fickle and way too demanding. If you try to do
something to help them out and it’s uncomfortable at first, they bitch and moan
how you are making their life hell then if you try to accommodate the people
who you try to win over you’re called a puppet or an ass kisser. Pretty much
you are screwed no matter which way you go. People all want what they want when
they want it. Everyone is demanding to be equal and treated the same yet want
special treatment for being individual and unique. You only get praise or a
thank you if things go their way and you are pretty much the scapegoat for
everything that goes wrong and the pay is less than any pro athlete or
entertainer.
As I see it, there
isn’t any man or woman of any color, political party, religion that will
satisfy everyone. God has been at it longer and there is even more hostility,
division and propaganda, false reports, unwillingness to commit, surrender or
acknowledge some of the good under the name of. Every four to eight years we
all go through the same thing. We are forced to choose the lesser of two evils
and the opposing party spends four to eight years picking apart every word
spoken or not spoken and everything from apparel to procedure trying desperately
to strip commander of the country of any effort or dignity.
I am looking
forward to see what a non- politician/high mucky muck businessman can do. I don’t
believe for one minute that he can part the sea or change water into wine. I
can guarantee a lot of people’s feathers will be ruffled when he starts or
attempts to make changes, I may or may not be one of those people. I laugh and
roll my eyes at anyone regardless of position or stature that can’t have a
laugh at him or herself. I am bothered by anyone who can’t answer a simple
question and does a lot of fan dancing. All I do know is that it’s both
exciting and nerve racking every time someone new takes on the president role
and kind of sad when they pack up and move on. I have high hopes planted in the " I can fix this , no sweat" brassy promises of the new president. Like many that voted for him I am hoping that I don't have to humble myself and say to the handful of non-deplorables, "You were right I was wrong"
