On Common Ground
There
have been many times
Where
I wanted to reach out but didn’t
More
than a couple of incidences
Where
I felt the urge to throw cold water
In
your face
Instead
of a shoulder or loving embrace
Your
slow slide down the rabbit hole
Is
something you can’t begin to hide
And
I have watched from afar
And
screamed for you to get up and try
Not
my place to tell you
How
to breath or walk your own life
Because
I am just as lost and falling
Blazing
paths and battling strife
Though
different in many ways
A loss
of something or someone
Can
turn us upside down
And
if I pray for you to find your way
Then
I pray for me in essence
In
theory we are on common ground
