Dark Before The Light

lisa  c
In the stormy grays and blacks
There was pending chaos, misdirected energy
There was pressure and suffocating abundance lack of air
Below my feet, above my head and all around me
I heard voices muted by the thick walls of my every fear
They offered direction to help me find the light
It’s been a challenge if nothing else
Trying to sort through days from night
There is a glow from a teasing burst of yellow
That enlightens and frustrates my very being
There must be something so elementary, so simple
That my over analytical mind keeps over seeing
