People Thorns
After kicking up dirt and sulking for a day maybe two, I am
often given sight to see both sides of an opposing situation. It really doesn’t
matter what the situation is, from political to personal I think most of us on
a daily basis fall into some kind of tug of war. Somebody we know of or know
well says or does something that rubs us the wrong way or maybe they don’t say
something that we think they should or do something we think should at least
have been offered.
I learned long time
ago but I am reminded constantly that not everyone around you is in the same
mindset as you. It is much easier to hang around like minded people as
yourself, there is a lower chance of flare ups and misunderstandings and there
are less likely chances of having to alter your views or feelings. I do believe
though that people who cut against our grain, that challenge us from morals to
what we eat have just as much right to their beliefs and their standards. We
don’t have to embrace them or do cartwheels but it is wasted energy when all
you do is find fault with each other. I also believe that all those people that
we view as thorns in our side are there for a reason. Not to torture or bring
pain but to stimulate us or bring us into a deeper understanding.
Life and love go way
beyond being continually happy and entertained or even content. Those people
thorns, the ones that prick us and make us bleed or uncomfortable either are
there to help us turn up or turn down the volume in our lives or we are
supposed to help them somehow.
