Mother and Child Reunion

I wish I can remember you

Reach inside my heart shaped box

Pull out a seared moment of mother child bonding

Share with everyone else a laugh or even a grimace

It’s been a long time

I had many hills to climb and lessons to learn

So I wouldn’t burst into flames

I let go of your hand

I don’t need a picture or a fractured memory

There is part of you in me, nobody or nothing can snatch that away

While you were away

I learned a thing or two about life, love and death

There is something higher and better

Things lost or taken will be found and returned

When I finish my journey, you and I will be reunited
