The Returned
The return of something or someone lost
Comes back looking and sounding the same
At first it saturates your whole being with intense joy
It wakes you up and gives you wings
You fly and soar forgetting, forgiving
As time passes after your feet touch ground
When the heart stops fluttering and you catch your breath
You begin to notice certain subtleties not just in the returned
lost entity
That all the lessons you thought you learned during the long
absence
Are the very ones you blatantly step over?
You begin to question why the lost returned
Why you feel the need to possess or need
People and objects come and go
Some are destined to never cross our paths again
While others will float and land for a time
