The Virus Effect

I try to give people I don’t really know a chance. If they show some kind of nice quality or have a good energy I will go out of my way to give them the benefit of doubt, the old innocent until proven guilty. The older I get and the more people I come across both in person and online I sway more to believing a person is guilty until proven innocent.

There are a lot of devious cowards about who have nothing better to do than to steal, hurt or trick other people and a trusting good natured soul more so now than ever has to really be on guard. Trying to decipher the good guys from the bad guys gets more difficult because the bad guys are stepping up their game. It reminds me of virus strains, some have learned to morph into something else or disguise and hide from our body’s foreign invader destroyers. The liars, cheats, fakes and thieves both online and in person are doing the same.

I don’t have a suspicious nature to me not until I see or hear a discrepancy that makes me question something. I will often overlook something that doesn’t look or feel right because I have a habit of lashing out and accusing then finding out a logical explanation. Before throwing someone on the defensive I put my accusations and suspicions on pause until I get some hard facts in. It does get more difficult to dish out immunity to someone who repeats a certain offense towards you or offers little to no explanation as to why. I understand the concept of turning the cheek and choosing our battles but I am now really understanding offering a brief immunity of benefit of the doubt and knowing when to cut ties
