Not Everything

Not everything is meant for consumption

Not everyone is meant to be in our lives

Words can flurry and fall around our ears

And some cut and bleed us like sharpened knives

Not every color appeals to our senses

Not all textures beckon us to touch

Not all things that we taste brings pleasure

But to some they cannot get enough

Not everything we encounter

Is meant to last for ever

But to have tried and failed

Than to just walk away and say never
