Disconnecting from the Nonsense
The older I get the more I realize that some things look or sound better when you are in dire need and then when it materializes, well the plan just doesn't work out. When Obamacare was being hashed out prior to him becoming president, I was all for it and didn't understand why so many people were opposed to it. It sounded to me like a great plan to help those who really needed help paying or getting health coverage. At the time I was very much employed and the company paid half my insurance bill so it really didn't apply to me at the time.
The full brunt of this health care helping hand didn't come into full focus until I lost my job and my health insurance. I found out real quick when enrolling that the unemployed people with no income get no help. If you had kids or some kind of disability and that does not include not being able to get a job, you could skate by on medicade but there's many hoops of fire to jump through and no guarantee. When I first hooked up the lowest plan was just under $300.00 with a 6500 deductible which in itself is laughable because there is no way to ever meet that so the health insurance really is just a front. The money was coming out of my pocket for doctor visits and I did have to pay some of my blood tests and on my meds but I was forking over 300 a month when a slight increase occurred then I had to due back pay to my doctor for all the visits my insurance wouldn't pay until I met my deductible.
I was thinking about dropping my insurance anyways and taking the hit of the fine for not having coverage but when I got a notice that my insurance was going to increase up to $379.83 for the same bullshit coverage I said to myself, no, i'm done. Large sums of money over the past couple of years were being sucked out of my personal stash until I find work and even if I do get fined for not having coverage for not having coverage it would still be less that what I shell out each month for really no help. I think it's stupid to have a plan to help people get help but not help the ones that really need it. I now understand all the people who were violently opposed to this Obamacare crap.
There is good and bad news about all this. The good news is that a little over a year we will have someone else in office and I can guarantee they will make this healthcare nightmare go bye bye, the bad news is that we have to put with him and his nonsense for another year or so.
We got a little over a year left of dealing with Obama period
