Reflected

It was long before the sun woke up

Her hair messed up from a restless sleep

Her hazel green eyes cloudy with a chance of rain

There was nothing pending

No agendas

Nothing holding her down or propping her up

She looked at me trying to find answers

Searching for that something that others had

She smiled but it was not genuine

A  fake acceptance

As simple wishes crashed into dust around her

Her eyes narrowed, her mock grin fell

I gave one last glance into the mirror on the wall

Then walked away with more questions than answers
