Intercepted


 

I knew when you drew first breath

How your eyes held me at bay

I lost my sense of direction

Forgot where I was

I was curious, intrigued by the physical

I waited for what felt like years to hear

Every word you did or did not say

Tempted by the fruit of a different way

You offered me sugar and yeast

You knew what you were doing

Tying me up and unleashing the beast

You won’t give in

I won’t give up

You’re darkness and light

I am tortured I’m confused

Because of you I can’t get enough

I thought I was different

I really thought I could resist

I was taken down by a simple stare

Held captive by a sultry voice

Then played with for selfish needs

And tossed aside left in the mist

It’s all part of the game

I was lured into

I was on my way to somewhere safe

When my path lead me to you

Swallowing an Elephant

You know that joke/riddle How do you eat an elephant? A-One bite at a time. For most that seems to be the most logical. The elephant is quite large and nobody can just pop one in their mouth but oddly enough there are people out there that want you to over tax your system trying to get one down in one bite. Apparently, there are some lucky individuals out there who can unhinge their jaw and eat an elephant in one or two tries so that sets the bar for everyone else. I am not so blessed to be able to unhinge my jaw and swallow large objects.    My capacity to learn and adapt to familiar things that need to be dusted off and new ways takes more than a day or two. I know the elephant swallowers are in high demand and get cut higher respect but I feel the nibblers are just as worthy. Breathing

When someone asks me how I am I usually respond with okay which means nothing bad or good is going on. When things aren’t so okay I reply with “I’m barely breathing” which means I’m highly stressed out over something. When I listen to meditation videos they always start out with deep breathing, at first, I thought it was kind of silly to concentrate so much on breathing. I also started to notice my breathing when I was stressed out or intensely involved in something. I have two destructive breathing patterns that take place, I either over breath or shallow breathe; sometimes I even subconsciously hold my breath. None of the three poor breathing methods make a happy functioning body. It’s funny to have to learn how to breath properly because it’s something we do automatically.    With some unknown allergies or on and off sinus issues I already face upper repertory struggles at times.
