Sweeping Glance
She sits beside a window
With a book she read before
Her hair pulled back
Comfortably dressed in loose clothing
The kind she won’t wear outside anymore
He cup filled with coffee
Two sugars and a puddle of cream
On the table is a stack of unopened mail
Along with her handbag and keys
Painting the single woman scene
She remembers when life was a simple chore
And giggles and blushes at those passing thoughts
She takes a moment to take a look around
With a twinkle in her eye
Smile on her face
Not quite the life of a fairy princess
But happy with she’s accomplished and what she’s got
