Under a Tree by a Pond
There’s a tree by a pond
Its arms reach and stretch
Some thick and
twisted
Some thin and fragile
And leaves so many it shades from the hot sun
Let us sit beneath and enjoy its splendor
While we sip a beverage of choice
The perfume from the wild flowers
Waft on a simple breeze
Birds nest and search for worms
Bees and butterflies steal nectar
Yes, it is quiet for some too boring
No satellites
No electronics
We don’t have to talk
Let’s do something really radical
Something not done in a very long time
Let’s just sit here and watch and listen
