Salt Over The Shoulder
Narrow perceptions inside a wide open gap
Unable to handle reality
But able to get all defensive in a heart beat
When something uncomfortable falls on their lap
Endless supply of time and energy for a certain few
But for some a list of things that take priority
It’s a jagged pill to swallow in your hour of need
When that certain someone has no time for you
But all of this must be taken with a grain of salt
And thrown swiftly over your shoulder
If this lesson didn’t leave a scar when you were younger
It will make a mark when you get older
