Leave You Be
I thought in my zealous surge of excitement
That those who I have interacted with
Would share my enthusiasm and understand my impatience
Not all have or do and I am left on the edge
Perhaps at times I am child like
Caught in a bubble of I want it now
Not so willing to wait on the wings of convenience
I do understand the world doesn’t revolve around me
I even factor in time and circumstance
But I also measure urgency when things first fire up
To where they are now and I not only see the imbalance
But I feel the distance
I have knocked on doors
Tapped on shoulders
Tried to keep a dying amber alive by fanning a spark
But I am now done
I will leave you be
