Critters at the Movies
I am in a bit of a superficial dilemma. Nothing really too
pressing and I am not losing any sleep over it. There are way too many issues
out there to get my panties in a wad over. This has been on my mind since the
situation cropped up. I have had other things going on to distract me so my
dilemma hasn’t been a front burner thing.
A couple weeks
back a story on the news got leaked out here in south Florida regarding a Bed
Bug attack at a movie theater. It was at an establishment I would never be at
anyways and as infrequent I go to the movies anyways and all the times I have
gone I have never encountered any creepy crawlies. In the past I have gone to
some places that were cheap to get in and they were eventually closed down for
rat and roach issues.
Since Bed Bugs
seem to be everywhere now, they have even been spotted in some hospitals and
they are the most difficult to make go away; I completely wigged out when I
heard the news about bed bugs at the
movies. I am not a movie buff, not one to be at every opening, in fact I probably
only go maybe twice a year both because of cost and not enough shows I want to
see. Like I said, I have never encountered any bug issues from the places I
have watched a movie at and this could just be isolated to this one place but….
There are a couple
of movies that just came out that I would like to see at the movies theater for
the effect value but it is now in the back of my mind about taking home some
critters. This one lady and her family got bitten alive and her car and home
got infested. Unlike most bugs that can be eliminated by chemicals Bed Bugs are
not that easy to make go away and now that is in the back of my mind when I
think of going to see a movie. I’m not sure what I am more upset over, the fact
that this info was reported or that I am allowing one episode to taint my movie
going experience.
I have three
choices. I can ignore and go see the movies I want to taking in the fact that I
have gone to the two closest theaters many times and never brought home any
critters, not go at all anymore and wait for it to become a dvd so I can watch
at home or hold out for the new movie complex that will be opening up soon. Like I said, not a pressing
issue but just something to think about.
