Waiting

During the height of a superficial moment

I knew what you wanted most from me

You could have asked about my dreams

Investigated my former stomping grounds

Uncovered why I became defensive then turned offensive

But you were on a mission

A personal physical agenda and the pleasantries were stepping stones

I called you on the carpet and at the matrix moment I could have verbally laid out

But I decided to not give you what you wanted

Now I sit back and wait and watch

Are you anything like you advertised or was I spot on?
