Something Not Human
I played strange games with candles and boards that
talked
Tapped into those who could interpret tarot and remote
view
I threw out questions to spirits that could be bad or
good, never really knowing
As the boredom of a flat line life eased into a needed
rest
My surroundings seemed in real time
I felt a pressing presence at first thinking human
Paralyzed both by fear and physical abnormality
I felt fingers and nails not belonging to man
Something evoking intense fear as it held me prisoner
from behind
I wanted to face my monster but not really
I fought to wake up or snag free or worse just give in
I started to scream out the only name what evil cringes
at
As my eyes fluttered open and the safe sound of my television
brought me back
I wondered if it was just night terror, some nasty dream
telling me something
