Lay It Down
When you know that you say or do just because
There’s no true magic and center of attraction
But you try to be objective
Try to keep it open
But reality cuts through the bullshit
And it all becomes just a pleasant distraction
When you know the difference between right and wrong
But you flirt with disaster anyway
You think hey maybe I can make this work
There’s nothing really there but you find something to make
you stay
When innuendo is the only thing you have
And you struggle to find a common ground
It’s time to be honest with yourself and to them
And nicely lay things down
