It Was Me

I once placed the blame on you

And tried to make you accountable

Yes, you played your part in all of this

But it was me who thought it through

Me who tried to cross the line

It was I who put you on a pedestal

The sun rose and set on you at least in my eyes it did

But none of that really mattered

It was me trying to push you into my reality

It was me who took you more seriously than you took me

It was you that wanted to breeze in and out without attachments

It was me wanting more, deserving more time

It was you that raised the bar

Now it’s I understanding you

Understanding me
