Flavor of the Month

Trends and human waves whether you're a side liner watching or right up there with your sleeves rolled up helping it swoosh over; are amusing and a testament that man kind is restless. From what we wear to expressions it seems like every six months there is something new to force yourself to accept and then by the time you embrace it BAM it's old had. Of coarse there are some people who don't bow down to trends and waves, they keep doing and wearing and carrying on with life without the added extras. There are even some like myself who season their life with bits and pieces of what ever is in the now with staying true to themselves.
For most I suppose, slipping into being out of date makes it harder to have conversations with people alot younger than yourself. It is a good idea once a month to take a stroll via the Internet or breeze through a People magazine to find out what's going on so anyone born in the last 20 years won't roll their eyes at you. To be honest i could care less what a bunch of push the envelope entertainers wear or don't wear, I would be more attuned if I had a daughter who was looking for an identity to mimic. I don't have my finger on the pulse of what is cool to say or do or wear, I just dated myself with saying cool. I am electronically up to speed PC and smart phone wise, well enough to get by on at least.
I do laugh at rolling trends and waves because all it takes is one or two people to say or do something off beat and within a month or less it becomes a new catch phrase or pass time. I have to admit long before Candy crush became a go to face book/smart phone game I was getting a taste for it then backed away from it. Not sure how or why but candy crush sored to notoriety and I am right back into it. I have tried to not like it and every time I think I'm free I find myself starting back up. I no longer though feel pressure to be at any level, it' s just something to distract me until I use up my lives then I carry on doing what ever. I am glad that I am not heavily influenced by what ever is  the new thing but I also feel good that I'm not totally outdated.
