Drift

I was opened and broken

I allowed the rushing water to wash over

The sun was sinking into orange and purple

Muted voices fade to silence

I lost all feeling

I floated between life and death

Tried to cling to bad choices

As I took my last breath

I am not who I was before

Lost possession and position

I am drifting and rebuilding

Throwing punches in the dark

My feet will touch the ground one day

But my heart and soul never flickered

Did not waiver

Refused to die
