Cyber Dependence

Ok, I will admit that I enjoy my galaxy android phone and my pc along with some of the apps, programs and services attached to both. I may be a woman and the world of electronics and all its fascination is held by the male sector but I am blown away of what something you can hold in your hand can do. I also believe that all this technology that empowers us also some how weakens us in areas and opens us up to be co-dependant on them.
  I have no idea outside of my own of course any body's phone number or home address and if by chance I was in an emergency situation and my phone for what ever reason wasn't working I would be pretty much S O L. I know if you're reading this you just exclaimed "Oh crap!" because you too have become reliant on your phone to keep track of important phone numbers and important contact info. We are no longer engaging our brain to record those numbers and the more we lean on our electronics the less likely we are able to function if for what ever reason we are not able to log on. Even getting so dependant on our plastic swiping to taking care of our financials online because getting dressed and driving to the bank and going inside might interrupt a game of candy crush or bidding on something really not needed on ebay.I just rolled my eyes and winced because I am right up in it.
 I am not sure on whether I have followed everyone else into electronic/cyberland for the convenience or for not being left out of the mouth dropping wide eye experience. Perhaps it's a little of both but I do know that it's not a major importance  to me to have the latest and greatest. The phone I have works, it does what I want it to do and I am not so sure that buying into higher technology every six months is going to make us a better person. I'm not shaking my head at people who have all the  latest greatest but I do often wonder if we are leaning a bit too much on them

Swallowing an Elephant

You know that joke/riddle How do you eat an elephant? A-One bite at a time. For most that seems to be the most logical. The elephant is quite large and nobody can just pop one in their mouth but oddly enough there are people out there that want you to over tax your system trying to get one down in one bite. Apparently, there are some lucky individuals out there who can unhinge their jaw and eat an elephant in one or two tries so that sets the bar for everyone else. I am not so blessed to be able to unhinge my jaw and swallow large objects.    My capacity to learn and adapt to familiar things that need to be dusted off and new ways takes more than a day or two. I know the elephant swallowers are in high demand and get cut higher respect but I feel the nibblers are just as worthy. Breathing

When someone asks me how I am I usually respond with okay which means nothing bad or good is going on. When things aren’t so okay I reply with “I’m barely breathing” which means I’m highly stressed out over something. When I listen to meditation videos they always start out with deep breathing, at first, I thought it was kind of silly to concentrate so much on breathing. I also started to notice my breathing when I was stressed out or intensely involved in something. I have two destructive breathing patterns that take place, I either over breath or shallow breathe; sometimes I even subconsciously hold my breath. None of the three poor breathing methods make a happy functioning body. It’s funny to have to learn how to breath properly because it’s something we do automatically.    With some unknown allergies or on and off sinus issues I already face upper repertory struggles at times.
